Aula Magna Via dei Banchi di Sotto 55, Siena The European projects Campiello, Comris, HIPS and MLounge organize a one-day workshop to gather academic and industrial specialists working in intelligent information interfaces and related technology. The aim of the workshop is to discuss the most appropriate technological solutions to the requirements emerging from novel human-centred systems and interfaces. The workshop is supported by the European Commission through the Esprit's i3net, Information Intelligent Interfaces network of excellence. Industrial partners are invited to actively take part in the workshop by presenting their own products and solutions to a set of key technological issues raised in the development of the projects organizing the workshop. Workshop topics will include issues relevant for the developement of wearable/portable assistants for a user interacting with a physical/informational space and intelligent interfaces for local communities. In particular, the workshop will address the technical problems involved in monitoring the user's movements, in accessing remote repositories of information through wireless technology, in letting different people communicating in their everyday activities. The target participants for this workshop are i3 projects and European industries working in the telecommunications field, producers and software developers for PDAs, industries already implementing portable information systems. The workshop will provide opportunities for establishing fruitful collaboration contacts between research consortia and technology providers, as well as for stimulating the interest of potential exploiters and users in the innovative results being developed inside Campiello, Comris, HIPS and MLounge.
