The i3 research programme CI (Connected Community and Inhabited Information Spaces) explores computing for communities of ordinary people, virtual communities and local communities. There are thirteen projects in the programme, all of which started between 1 July and 1 September 1997. Some are now finished or are currently approaching their finish; all have moved from plans and ideas, design proposals and ethnographic research to concrete, demonstrable results.

So what has been achieved, and what lies ahead? We checked in with all thirteen projects, and here are the answers, in words and pictures.
