Special Maypole publication to appear later this year

The Maypole team is currently working on Talking Pictures, a publication that will appear in November as a special issue of Interactions, the ACM’s bi-monthly on interaction design.

A girl uses the Maypole prototype during the field trials.

"What happens if teenagers can easily exchange images all day?" is just one of the questions that will be discussed in Talking Pictures. Based on the Maypole vision (see also p17 of this issue), the publication will present a wide range of expert opinions in sociology, psychology, visual culture and technology. As well as containing highlights from the Maypole project and user scenarios for pictorial communicators, it will spotlight the latest products in the field and provide numerous links and references. Talking Pictures is bound to inspire designers, ICT strategists and policy makers in the development of new products, visions and missions.
