i3labTV

New cooperation
i3net ( www.i3net.org ) and TVropa ( www.tvropa.com ) have entered into a cooperation about a new narrowcasting web TV channel named i3labTV.

Narrowcasting
i3labTV is in English and will deal with IT of the future at an advanced level. The target group of i3labTV is IT researchers, the IT industry, IT freaks ­ in short, everybody with an interest in IT. The fact that we are talking about narrow casting has the impact that the subjects dealt with will not necessarily be explained, so that they will be understood by everybody.

i3net and TVropa
i3net (European Network of Excellence for Intelligent Information Interfaces) is a successful European cooperation between more than 400 IT researchers and designers, and TVropa is the web TV portal of the film company Zentropa.

Danish coordination
i3net is coordinated by the Natural Interactive Systems Lab ( www.nis.sdu.dk ) at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense under the leadership of professor Niels Ole Bernsen, who says: "We have the contents, they hav e the channels, and it is fun cooperating with them. So it may work out just fine."

Topics on i3labTV
On i3labTV committed top researchers from all over Europe will discuss new exiting IT topics, which the viewers will have the possibility to comment on via email of course. There will also be background information about researchers and their resea rch institutions as well as links to their projects, enabling the viewers to gain an insight into state of the art IT research and the IT inventions of tomorrow and in this way be less surprised by the future.
