Final equipment and poster space guidelines

Based on input from i3 projects, the i3 AC Organising Committee has decided the following at their 13th May 1998 meeting in Nyborg:

i3 projects have to bring the computers they need themselves. The local Organising Committee (LOC) can not be expected to take care of hiring and equipping computers.

However, the LOC is prepared to make available the following equipment in the poster exhibition room:

  • 1 computer screen per project
  • 1 video-presenter per project (recorder plus monitor)
  • 1 overhead projector per project
  • A couple of dataprojectors for all projects to share.

Internet connections will by default NOT be available. Therefore, if you want to demonstrate web pages or programmes, please bring what you need on your computer. If you want to connect two computers in a local network, please bring the cables and be prepared to set this up yourself.

In order to be able to guarantee availability of the equipment you need the LOC to provide, we need to know what you require by **Friday 5 June 1998** at the latest.

Please send an email to coordinator@i3net.org with the following information about each item you require:

  • Computer screen: Indicate desired size and whether it should be for Mac, PC, Sun, other (specify).
  • Videopresenter: Indicate format (e.g. PAL) and any other information which may be relevant for the LOC to get you the right equipment. Indicate preferred size of monitor.
  • Overhead projector: -
  • Data projector: Indicate what you need it for and when (time intervals).
  • Other preferences: If you have additional wishes with respect to equipment please let us know. The LOC would like to receive an explanation of what you need this extra equipment for and why the LOC should take care of providing it.

  • electrical power, 220 Volts, European plugs;
  • if requested, two dividers each up to 3 meters long. These could be arranged with the above "back wall" to enclose an area of max. 3x3 meters.
