i3 Annual Conference

Siena, Italy

October 20-22 1999

Conference Programme

Welcome to the i3 Annual Conference

Recently, Siena was voted the city in Italy with the highest overall quality of living for the citizens. We are happy to welcome you all to Siena's unique medieval environment which, for a few days, you will be populating with visions of living in the next millenium. As the conference locations and hotels are distributed across the city, the i3 community

will be so as well. We hope that you will have all the opportunities you could wish for to meet friends and colleagues, enjoy, learn, and plan ahead.

We will be summoned to reviews, most of us, of course, but the large majority of events will be workshops, presentation sessions, performances, the exhibition, the concert, the dinner, the surprises ... Tell the ESE folks what you are doing, see how their ideas and technologies relate to your own work on communities, and give our visitors from across the world a pleasant experience amidst the i3 community. Discuss the virtual, the real, and the disappearing computer. Take your time, it's a rare occasion.

Welcome to Siena and to the second i3 Annual Conference.
